Laura Plaza

Dr. María Laura Plaza Useche is a board-certified periodontist and implant dentist at Dental Project Mexico in Tijuana, with 17 years of experience as a dental surgeon and 13 years specializing in periodontics and implantology.

Native from Venezuela, she graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Universidad de los Andes in 2009. She later completed her specialty in Periodontology at Universidad de Guadalajara, where her outstanding performance earned her an exchange at Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A&M University — completing a Fellowship in Periodontics in 2015. She then completed a second postgraduate degree in Surgical and Prosthetic Implant Dentistry at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

Dr. Plaza dedicates her practice exclusively to periodontics and implant dentistry. Her clinical focus includes dental implants, implant-supported prosthetics, mucogingival surgery, crown lengthening, frenectomies, scaling and root planing, periodontal bone surgery, bone grafts, and guided bone regeneration.

She is an active member of the Asociación Mexicana de Periodoncia and has been a member of the American Academy of Osseointegration and the International Team for Implantology. She regularly attends international conferences including the Congreso Asociación Mexicana de Periodoncia and the EFP International Perio Master Clinic.

Dr. Plaza believes in continuous improvement and shares her time between her clinical practice and being a mother.
